The objective of the research group
Aim
The aim of the project is to support the vulnerable farmers of Canudos settlement in Goiás state of Brazil to distribute their products through the PAA and PNAE governmental programs by providing them training on logistical and distribution methods and developing simplified tools to support them in the decisions related to their distribution network.
Objectives
- Understand the needs and requirements of small local farmers in Brazil in terms of distribution of their products through the PAA & PNAE programs;
- Develop a simplified costing and decision support model on which school supply areas to bid for and train farmers to use it;
- Examine alternative scenarios of product distribution pathways and quantify their potential benefit;
- Build capacity of Brazilian early career researchers on state of the art logistical and distribution models and practices;
- Create awareness on social issues in developing countries within the UK University students
