Last July the BRASCO team was awarded the EURO Prize for OR for the Common Good from EURO - The Association of European Operational Research Societies at the EURO 2022 conference in Espoo (Finland) for the research (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0377221721001600?via%3Dihub), which supports vulnerable Brazilian smallholder farmers to supply food produce to schools through institutional markets.
The winners of the prize (Andrea Tuni, Athanasios Rentizelas, Maico Roris Severino, Helio Fuchigami and Luisa Queiroz Barbosa), decided to support the local community and donate the monetary award to the Tio Cleobaldo Association (https://www.facebook.com/tiocleobaldo), an NGO based in Goiania (Brazil), which distributes food to homeless people.
